Sierpinski shapes in shells

Geoffrey Milburn wrote a great blog article called “I See Sierpinski Shapes by the Sea Shore” about mathematical shapes called Sierpinski triangles and how they naturally occur in certain types of seashells. Be sure to also take a look at his extended info on “Elementary Cellular Automata“.
